Finland TourismTraveling to the land of the Vikings might be something that’s appealed to you for years, but heading to Finland isn’t something recommended by many travel journals or websites. So, how can you get started in planning your trip to Finland? You will want to make sure that you find out what areas of Finland you need to explore, at what times of year, and you need to realize right now that you’re not going to see it all, even if you were to travel in the country for months. The Regions of Finland to ExploreWhen you’re off on your Finland travel adventure, you might want to begin in a number of different regions, or you can focus your vacation in just one area. The different regions of Finland include:
Each of these regions has a number of activities for you to enjoy, depending on what you want to do and what you want to see when you’re in the country. Summertime in FinlandWhile Finland is certainly not a tropical area, the summer months do offer more sunshine and warmer temperatures. In this warmer weather, you will be able to do a number of things you might not be able to do when it’s snowy and icy out.
Being outside is something that all Finland residents enjoy, so if you’re looking to be a part of the culture and not just an observer, you might want to get active during the warmer days. Wintertime in FinlandFinland has snow during the winter months, lots of it, so if you like winter outdoor activities, this is the country for you. You will be able to get your snow fix for hours on end.
You can find ice rinks as well to skate on, as well as indoor activities if it’s just too cold for you. But, again, Finland residents like to be outside, enjoying themselves in the weather, no matter how blustery it gets and no matter how dark the nights are during the winters. When you are in Finland, you might want to get a lot of sleep since there is so much to do and so much to see. Head outside of your hotel and begin to experience the country, not just the traditional tourist stops of the land. You can see those in books, but you can’t get the same rush you get from skiing the land. |
